Policies & Guidelines for Centers & Institutes
The Graduate Council governs the establishment and oversight of centers, institutes, and bureaus. Units wishing to propose a new center or institute should follow guidelines as outlined in the University's policies governing centers, institutes and bureaus, as well as Board of Regents policy R401-10.3.
New centers and institutes are approved first by the Graduate Council, followed by the Academic Senate, Board of Trustees, and Board of Regents. For further information on submitting a proposal for a new center, institute or bureau, please contact Denise Haynie in the Graduate School at 581-6925 or dhaynie@admin.utah.edu.
