Why did you decide to work |
From friends to family members, everybody I know who has gone to the U of U has had an amazing experience. You can find research opportunities, unique majors, and faculty support while living in one of the most beautiful parts of the nation. |
|
Best part of the job? |
Getting to work one-on-one with future students! It's really rewarding to help someone advance their life through college. Going to the U gives you so many opportunities, both in academics and personal growth. I love being able to say I helped someone achieve all of those things. |
|
Where are you most likely to be |
The Marriott Library! I love how big it is; you can study in a quiet nook by yourself or in a big group of friends. Plus, there is an awesome café. There is nothing quite as like cuddling up with a good book and a hot drink. |
|
Favorite Ute moment/memory: |
When I was little my whole family would have picnics in front of the student union. The campus was huge and beautiful; the people were energetic and friendly. It gave my whole family a chance to bond with each other and the U of U community as a whole. |
|
Tips for college success: |
Expand your horizons! Want to know more about your major? Do research! Go to professor's office hours! Feel like you need a bigger social circle? Go Greek! Join one of our 500+ clubs! You could even just chill in your dorm's common areas or the Heritage Center! With such a diverse, large, student body there's almost always something new to explore and somebody willing to help you do it. |
|
Most memorable college class: |
Women and Aging! This was a small class where I got to work very closely with a professor and my classmates. We would actually have lunch at my professor's house once a week while we met with guest speakers (including political activists, spiritual leaders, and even a Dove Pro-Age model!). |
|
Family members who |
My dad is a professor at the U of U, my mom got her Ph.D. here, and my sister is getting her bachelor's degree right now! |
The Marriott Library is my favorite place on campus because it signifies the University's commitment to academic excellence. Not to mention it's a lovely place to hide away with a great book!
