13th
International Symposium on
Field- and Flow- based
Separations (FFF 2007)
to be held in
Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
June
27-30, 2007

The Thirteenth
International Symposium on Field- and Flow- based Separations is
focused on the new developments and applications of all forms of
Field-Flow Fractionation (FFF) and related field- and flow
separation techniques such as: SPLITT, nanoscale flow
separations, and electro-, magnetic-, acoustic-, and
dielectrophoretic-driven separations.
The program will be of
interest to scientists and engineers concerned with separation
and characterization of all types of polymers, colloids, and particles in
liquid media including: proteins, protein aggregates, bioparticles (viruses, cells), biopolymers, natural polymers
(polysaccharides), synthetic polymers, emulsions, humic and
fulvic acids, environmental colloids and particles, and
nanoparticles. With new advances in micro- and nano- scale
versions of field- and flow- based separations, the
symposium will also be of interest to researchers in the
lab-on-a-chip and micro-total-analysis-systems (m-TAS)
fields. The symposium will follow the established mix of oral and
poster presentations of previous symposia.
The symposium will be
held on the campus of the University of Utah - the birthplace of
field- flow fractionation - in the new
Warnock Engineering
Building (WEB). On behalf of the
Organizing and Scientific Program Committees,
Bruce Gale (Center for Biomedical Microfluidics, University
of Utah) is pleased to invite you to participate in the
Thirteenth International Symposium on Field- and Flow-based
Separations.
A
PDF copy of
the abstract book is available
here (8 MB).
Invited speakers for the symposium include:
Shawn Cao, Amgen, speaking on protein interaction and particle
aggregation work done at Amgen.
David Myszka, University of Utah, speaking on current challenges in
protein interaction research.
Important
Dates
The deadline for suggested
oral contributions has passed.
The deadline for poster abstracts has passed.
Late news poster abstracts will be accepted
until June 15. These posters will be presented in a poster
session on the last day of the conference, but the abstracts will not be
included in the abstract book.
Author notification of
acceptance to the symposium program will be completed by May 15, 2007.
