Commencement 2014

The 147th University of Utah Commencement took place on May 1, 2014. The class of 2014 is composed of 7,947 graduates from 76 countries, 50 U.S. states and 28 Utah counties. A total of 8,398 degrees were conferred (more than the number of students as some receive more than one degree), including 5,417 bachelor’s degrees; 2,045 master’s degrees; 673 doctorates; 127 juris doctorates; 79 doctors of medicine; and 57 doctors of pharmacy.

Alex Smith, NFL quarterback, U alumnus and member of college football's original BCS-busting team, is not your typical jock. And on Thursday night, he did not give your typical commencement address.

Janine Henry

Janine Henry is a Strategic Communication Major. Henry will be attending the University of Tampa this fall to pursue her Master's degree in marketing and hopes to work as a nonprofit marketing consultant. She loves camping and exploring the outdoors — fishing, hiking, sitting around the fire and road tripping with her family.
